The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies have to wait one more day before the 2022 World Series restarts. MLB announced Monday night that Game 3 of the Fall Classic has been postponed due to rain. Played on Tuesday instead, the rest of the series has him postponed by a day. There will be a travel break between Game 5 and, if necessary, Game 6.

- Tuesday, November 1: Game 3 Philadelphia 8:03 PM ET
- Wednesday, November 2nd: Game 4 Philadelphia 8:03 PM ET
- Thursday, November 3rd: Game 5 Philadelphia 8:03 PM ET
- Friday, November 4th: Off day
- November 5th (Sat): Game 6 in Houston 8:03 PM (if needed)
- November 6th (Sun): Game 7 (if required) at 8:03 PM ET in Houston
Light rain will begin at Citizens Bank Park around 6 PM ET, pick up around 9 PM ET and continue through early Tuesday morning. Current conditions suggest the Astros and Phillies can start Game 3 as scheduled, but heavy rain later in the evening could force a pause and disrupt the game. MLB makes all weather-related decisions in the postseason, and the league prefers to play his nine innings uninterrupted whenever possible.

Phillies lefty Ranger Suarez (10-7, 3.65 ERA) and Lance McCullers Jr. (4-2, 2.27 ERA) will be the starting pitchers when the World Series resumes on Tuesday.
Coincidentally, Philadelphia was the site of MLB’s most infamous World Series weather conundrum. Game 5 of the 2008 World Series was suspended in the sixth inning due to rain. The Rays tied the game 2-2 in the previous half innings while the club played in a downpour. Then-commissioner Bud Selig then declared that all World Series games had to be 9 innings for him.
When asked by the Associated Press about the possibility of rain-shortening the World Series, Selig said, “I was never going to let that happen.” , it would have been postponed by the rain until weather conditions allowed it to continue, and it would be 24 or 48 hours, who knows?”
Game 5 continued the next day, with the Phillies winning their first World Series championship since 1980 thanks to Pedro Feliz’s seventh-inning RBI single.
