If you’re like us, Amazon’s vast marketplace is one of the first places you turn to when you need delivery. Who doesn’t like being hit? Heavy online shoppers are probably familiar with Amazon Prime these days, but if you haven’t checked out the full list of services included in the monthly price, chances are you’re missing out on some great extras right now.

So what exactly is Amazon Prime? This allows Amazon to offer a variety of enhanced delivery options when shopping through its website or app, including same-day or next-day delivery, or delivery to your doorstep on a convenient weekday of your choice. is the core subscription service of .

But like Amazon itself, Prime has expanded significantly since it officially launched in 2007. This is the same year as the release of his first Apple iPhone and just three years after Facebook’s official launch. The core concept of ultra-fast shipping remains the same to this day, but there’s a wealth of extra extras to sweeten the deal. So here’s a quick breakdown of what you can expect if you sign up today.

  • Quick delivery: Unlimited one-day (and sometimes same-day) shipping is a key feature of Amazon Prime and has been since its inception. However, there is also a grocery delivery service called Amazon Fresh that lets you get free delivery (over £40) from supermarkets near your zip code.
  • prime video: Access to the Prime Video streaming service – watch movies and TV shows and temporarily download them to your phone or tablet. There is a wide variety of content, from family cartoons to sporting events.
  • prime photo: Safely store or back up your favorite images with unlimited photo storage via Amazon Cloud Drive.
  • Amazon Music for Prime: This is the middle tier (shuffle only) of Amazon’s own music streaming service. Ad-free access to 100 million songs.
  • prime reading: Borrow books and magazines from specific Prime Reading catalogs and read them on your smartphone, tablet or Kindle. There’s also a Kindle-specific service that offers free early downloads of new books each month from Kindle First recommendations.
  • prime early access: One for the avid shopper, with early access to Lightning Deals for up to 30 minutes on the main marketplace.
  • prime day: Prime gives you full access to all deals during Amazon Prime Day, an annual shopping event usually held around July.
  • prime student: UK students (any higher education student) are eligible for a 50% discount on Amazon Prime at the end of the 6 month trial period.
  • prime gaming: For those who love gaming on PC, we offer free titles, free in-game content, and a monthly channel subscription to use on Twitch.
  • prime discount: Membership unlocks discounts on other Amazon services, including 2 free audiobooks on Audible when you sign up for a 30-day trial. Amazon Music Unlimited is available for £8.99 per month (usually £10.99).

How much does Amazon Prime cost?

There are two main prime tiers. £8.99 per month or £95 per year. If you just want access to Prime Video, it’s £5.99/month. Students can claim her 6-month free trial of Prime. After it ends, you can get the tiers for half the price. That’s £4.49 per month or £47.49 per year. As part of the student package, Amazon also offers up to 10% off select textbooks.

How to get Amazon Prime for free

Not sure if Prime is right for you? The best way to try it out is to sign up for a free trial. This lasts him 30 days and is available to anyone who hasn’t been a Prime member in the past year (every 12 months he can only access one free trial). Just visit the website, tap Start Free Trial and follow the step-by-step instructions on the screen. It’s quick and easy, but just know that you’ll need to have your card details ready. Also note that if you forget to cancel before the trial ends, you will automatically be moved to the monthly level.

    What is Amazon Prime Video?

One of our favorite Amazon Prime services (and, honestly, a big reason we keep paying monthly fees) is this streaming platform. Just like Netflix and Disney+, you can watch movies, TV shows and documentaries on your TV, tablet or smartphone. There is a ton of original content for adults (the standouts include Bosch, rig, ring of power When Reacher) as well as plenty of family friendly shows like Peppa Pig When Dora the ExplorerWith a growing number of sporting events such as soccer and tennis, and incorporating the ad-supported channel Freevee (owned by Amazon), the app is also free for non-Prime members.

Can I watch sports with Amazon Prime?

Yes, an increasing number of mainstream sporting events are being broadcast through Prime. Unlike Sky and BT, it’s not a dedicated channel, so it’s not yet a regular match schedule. But Amazon is starting to fork over millions of dollars to acquire more and more rights to show live sports like the NFL, ATP World Tour and Premier League. This allows you to stand out from the competition. It’s also accessible through a free trial, which is great for you.

    audible.co.uk

Is Audible free with Amazon Prime?

Audible is one of the best ways to access a huge library of audiobook content, but it’s not one of the extras you’d expect to get for free as part of your Prime membership. Audible is still available as a full service for £7.99 per month or £69.99 per year (see full explanation of how Audible works here). However, Prime members have one perk. Not one non-Prime user, the 30-day free trial allows him to download two free books.

    Does Prime include Kindle Unlimited?

If you’re a book lover, you’re probably familiar with the Kindle, and you may own one or two of the best Kindle e-readers in years. Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited is a library that gives you access to over 1 million Kindle titles and is one of our favorite ways to read eBooks and magazines. Unfortunately, Access is not part of your Prime membership, but you do get a service called Prime Reading.

So what is Amazon Prime Reading? It’s a lighter version of the full-blown service, allowing you to borrow from a curated selection of over 1,000 eBooks (up to 10 titles at a time). The library isn’t as impressive as Kindle Unlimited, but I like the inclusion of comics and magazines.

    Does Amazon Prime include music?

If you’ve bought an Echo Dot or one of the other best smart speakers and have a Prime membership, we have good news. Your subscription includes music streaming through a service called Amazon Music Prime. It’s a step up from Amazon Music Free, the basic tier that’s available to everyone and plays ads between tracks, but over premium Amazon Music Unlimited, which offers unlimited listening and high-definition audio and lets you skip tracks. Below. Music Prime gives you access to ad-free music and podcasts, but there’s no offline support and you can only shuffle playlists.

If you want to upgrade to the premium tier and get the most out of your new headphone set or Bluetooth speaker, Prime members can get unlimited for £8.99 instead of the usual £10.99.

Is Amazon Kids+ included in Prime UK?

Parents will love Amazon Kids+, with its wide range of age-appropriate books, TV shows, apps and games for smartphones, Kindles, and tablets. Unfortunately, this is not included with your Prime membership, but you can claim a 50% discount by subscribing. Normally £6.99 per month or £68 per year, but Prime members are available for £3.99 per month or £38 per year. Not sure if that’s for you? A one-month free trial is available.

    What is Amazon Prime Day?

Who doesn’t like bargains? Amazon Prime Day is his annual two-day shopping event that offers exclusive discounts and markdowns only to members of the subscription service. Usually he takes place in July (although last year he had a second in October, so we don’t know what will happen in 2023). There are always tons of great deals on tech, home, fashion, and grooming. We whisper it: Signing up for a free trial also works here.

Can I share my Amazon Prime benefits?

Unlike some subscription services (such as Netflix) that crack down on sharing, you can share some Prime benefits with other members of your family via Amazon Household. As long as both adults have their own Amazon account[プライム特典を共有する]You can go to the section and enter the name and email address of the second profile. After your invitees accept (you must know their date of birth and agree to share a payment method), you can share benefits such as expedited delivery, Amazon Fresh, Prime Video, Prime Reading, and more. In the Household section you can add details for up to 2 adults (18+) and her 4 children. Two adults can share digital content with children, such as ebooks, apps, and games, and access child moderation tools. Households will work as long as the adult account is in the same country. No need to share your address.

How to get Amazon Prime Student

If you (or your family) have UK tertiary education and want Prime, this student program is for you. It starts as a 6-month free trial, after which you get 50% off your monthly or yearly bill. Instead of £8.99 per month or £95 per year, it costs £4.49 per month and £47.49 per year. So students get access to the Prime Video streaming platform, Music Prime, photo storage and, of course, fast delivery. There are also some great student-only offers, like up to 10% off textbooks.

    Sign up for Prime Student

Is Amazon Prime worth using in the UK?

It’s easy to feel subscription service fatigue in 2023, but for regular Amazon users, a Prime membership is a pretty solid investment. If you’re a frequent shopper, the fast shipping and Prime Day discounts alone might be worth it, but Prime Video’s vast selection of movies, TV shows, sports content, and music and e-book content is worth it. Throw in a selection and it’s available as an extra bonus.

Admittedly, it’s a bit of a bummer that you don’t have access to more premium Amazon services like Audible, Kindle Unlimited, and Kids+, but you’ll appreciate some price reductions available when you sign up. Free trial. Prime isn’t a new subscription service in 2023, but it’s still one of the leading offerings in our opinion.
