Vote for Becker on Holland Township board
It has been my pleasure to serve with Doug Becker, Holland Charter Township trustee. As a former trustee, Doug was appointed to fill a term in the passing of Trustee Norman Nykamp.
Doug exemplifies the role of an elected official and has distinguished himself as dedicated, honorably serving the public with the highest integrity. Doug is not burdened or hindered by “across the aisle“ ideology, but acts and governs in a way for the greater good of the township and community.
It’s important to retain Doug as a Holland Charter Township trustee. Please join me on in voting for Douglas Becker.

Larry Jackson the right candidate to lead our 86th District
One candidate has actively shown support for the people of the 86th District with his involvement and presence with people from all walks of life — and that candidate is Larry Jackson. It is time now to support him.
He is transparent and informed on issues of the day: affordable housing, education and infrastructure. His firm understanding of technology allows him to leverage his interpersonal skills for the common good. As more politicians speak only the party line, talk around or even avoid issues, Larry Jackson is a breath of fresh air who faces challenges directly and works selflessly to make progress for all.
There is much that needs to be overcome in government. Who better to lead that effort than Larry Jackson, who has overcome so much in his life? Growing up in poverty uniquely equips Larry Jackson to relate to the majority of hard working people of Holland.
Experiencing a close family member with mental illness enables him to guide public health expenditures for those who are in need. Military, business, faith and civic experience round out his positive characteristics.
I heartily feel that Lansing needs Larry’s perspective, and I will be voting for him in this election.

The GOP is in no position to throw stones
Remember that time when Sasha Obama took to Twitter to mock Ivana Trump’s fall down stairs and subsequent death due to ”blunt force trauma” (as reported by the New York Times)? And then her burial on a golf course?
How she spewed memes about Halloween costumes?
Of course, you don’t. It didn’t happen.
Or how about when, back in 2012, Malia Obama mercilessly ridiculed Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk after his stroke, the one that left him without the use of his left hand, arm and most of his left leg?
How she crowed about how a double amputee candidate (Tammy Duckworth) was sure to defeat a “brain dead” Kirk?
Of course, you don’t. It didn’t happen.
Wasn’t it awesome when Barack and Michelle Obama publicly castigated their daughters for their juvenile, moronic and despicable behavior?
Of course, it wasn’t. They never had to.
Recall the hue and cry from the Democratic Party leadership and rank and file, condemning the children of a sitting, and then former, president for the disgrace Sasha and Malia had brought down upon their parents and, indeed, upon their country?
Of course, you don’t. There was never any reason.
Or how about the wall-to-wall coverage and denouncement from every liberal media outlet, savaging the Obamas, every one of them, for their smug arrogance and abject malice?
Of course, there wasn’t. There was nothing to see there.
And me? Remember how I, mortified with shame, resigned my Democratic Party affiliation? I said I could not and would not tolerate being in any way affiliated with a party and an ethos that countenanced cruelty.
Of course, you don’t. I’m still a proud Democrat.
Democrats are far, FAR, from the pureness of the driven snow, but they rarely, if ever, have to self-check their essential humanity.
GOP? Anything to say?
