If Iran were to hand over its incoming Fateh and Zolfagar ballistic missiles to Russia, Ukraine’s available air defense capabilities would be more than adequate.
This was said by Air Force spokesman Yuri Inat on a state telethon, Ukrinform reports, citing RFE/RL.
“Russia has not abandoned its intention to receive kamikaze drones and missiles from Iran, the previously announced ballistic missiles Fateh and Zolfaghar. Against ballistic missiles, we have nothing today. hmm,” said the spokesperson.
At the same time, he pointed out that Russia also has ballistic weapons such as Kinzhal, Kh-22 and S-300 missiles, as well as S-400 anti-aircraft missiles that fly along ballistic trajectories.
Ihnat stressed that Ukraine’s allies are aware of these challenges.
“Our partners understand that countermeasures such as the Patriot PAC-3 and SAMP-T are necessary against ballistic threats. I have declared that I am ready to transfer the ,” he said.
In late December, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Iran was still refusing to supply Russia with ballistic missiles. Moscow is said to have provided scientific know-how to the Iranian military industry and persuaded Tehran to support them by supplying these missiles.
