In the first excerpt released today, Hancock criticized Trump for making unsubstantiated claims about the benefits of using malaria drugs to combat the novel coronavirus.
Under his April 4, 2020 entry, the desperate former health minister wrote: What a terrible, terrible man.
A few weeks later, Trump notoriously sparked widespread outrage with his bizarre claims that sunlight and bleach injections could be used to treat people suffering from the virus.
The shocking proposal was condemned as dangerous by health officials and has quickly come to symbolize President Trump’s chaotic nature and his handling of the pandemic.
Mr Hancock said: Leader of the free world. Most of mine were horrible.
“While one would like to think that no one would take these outlandish suggestions seriously, doctors around the world should now warn people against trying to treat themselves with Cillit Bang.”
In an excerpt to be published in an email next week, Hancock wrote that months after the global pandemic was brought under control, Trump contracted the virus with his wife.

Hancock wrote below his October 2, 2020 entry:
“It was tempting to suggest to President Trump on social media that he treat himself with UV exposure and bleach, but I didn’t.”
The following month, the former health secretary revealed that he was “craving” Joe Biden to win the presidential election.
When Mr. Biden was finally elected the 46th president after days of painstaking counting of votes, Mr. Hancock said he cried with relief before “celebrating” over a cup of tea.
“Biden did it! I heard the news when I turned on the radio in the kitchen before the whole family got up,” he said in the book.
“I lay down on the couch and, to my surprise, cried tears of relief. Finally the end of Trump’s madness. He was such a disaster to the Western values I hold so dear.”
“After a few minutes, I picked myself up and turned on the kettle. It’s a true British celebration.”
