The King of Terror has descended on the scariest task ever. Stephen King Not for the reasons you might think, but now I’m on Donald Trump’s Truth Social.
The lifelong Democrat, who supported the campaigns of Barack Obama, Gary Hart and Elizabeth Warren and was also an advocate for gun control, announced on Twitter that he had joined Trump’s controversial app.Truth Social was created in response to the former president’s ban on Twitter and began lukewarm registration in February 2022.
King has joined an estimated 513,000 users of this website. The acclaimed author also took the time to point out that Trump was unprepared for a full-fledged career as a copywriter, blaming him for his frequent misspellings.
Truth Social is one of a new line of alternative social media apps designed solely to allow far-right users to converse without fear of “censorship” (i.e. racist and homophobic see the results of the statement). Ironically, Truth Social itself has been accused of censoring itself with reports that dissent over the Jan. 6 riots led to shadowbans. Freedom of speech, right?
It’s still unclear if King will continue the gag of being on the app, and his inner rebel may be looking to add a “ban from Truth Social” to his many other accolades.
