Fans may be watching Season 2 Wednesday on Amazon Prime Video instead of Netflix.
Wednesday is arguably one of the best series on Netflix in 2022 and definitely deserves a second season. The show’s final episode uncovered more mysteries and set the series for a second season. But the question is not whether Wednesday will be held. This is where the viewer can see it.
As of this writing, Wednesdays are still available on Netflix. However, Wednesday will likely see a second season update on Amazon’s Prime Video instead. Rumors are circulating that Wednesday’s season 2 is headed to Amazon Prime Video, largely due to the merger of the show’s producers, Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer (MGM) Studio, and Amazon Studios. The $8.5 billion merger closed in March 2022. Amazon later said it would not affect ongoing projects that were already in production at the time of the merger, including Wednesday. So that’s why Netflix was able to debut on Wednesday.
However, Wednesday’s success may allow Amazon to pull the strings and get a second season show on Prime Video. Amazon said at the time of the merger that it had no plans to keep all MGM content exclusively on its platform, but Wednesday Addams may not be one of them.
However, this is likely pending actual confirmation from either Netflix, Amazon or MGM parties. It’s still possible Amazon thinks it makes more business sense to keep Wednesdays on Netflix for Season 2. On Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
