A source said Trump would do whatever it took to get Walker to the goal, but specifically suggested that he had no plans to take the stage with the candidate.
Instead, the 76-year-old can hold an event over the phone the night before the vote. This has the advantage of reaching Republican voters while limiting his visibility in the election.
However, the source emphasized that the plans have not been confirmed.
Republican strategist Jay Williams said he was working with a super PAC affiliated with Walker and had a “deliberate strategy” to keep Trump out of the race.
He said: “One, I think they [Walker’s campaign] I don’t want him to do that because it creates problems. “
Williams added that there are risks for Trump, too.
“I think Trump looks at the numbers and sees that it’s a risk, and he doesn’t want to make himself look bad by participating. [have] Walker lost.
“I think it’s a deliberate strategy for both sides.”
By contrast, other top Republicans gathered in Taozhou to boost Mr. Walker’s chances.
