A lawyer for a Montreal-area woman accused of mailing poison to former US President Donald Trump said she was likely to accept a plea bargain.
Federal public defender Eugene Ohm said Thursday in Washington, D.C. District Court that his clients have asked many questions about the details of the offer by federal prosecutors.
Pascal Ferrier, 55, faces four federal charges in the US capital after allegedly mailing an envelope containing the poison ricin to the White House in September 2020.

The plea deal would also cover 16 federal indictments Ferrier faces in Texas.
Ferrier is being held at a Washington, DC area prison and is scheduled to return to court on January 5.
Ohm says he needs time to consider the complex deal with Ferrier.
