Meghan Markle and Prince Harry biographer Omid Scobie has accused the royal family of branding the monarchy “toxic” after Mrs. Susan Hussey was accused of racist interactions.
Scobie took to Twitter to vent his anger on King Charles III, writing:
Susan, one of Queen Elizabeth II’s most valued aides, found herself at the center of the competition after a chat with Ngozi Fulani, founder of the charity Sistah Space.
British-born Fulani said Mrs Hussey repeatedly asked him where he was from at Buckingham Palace and he received an apology from his office when his aide resigned.
She told ITV’s Good Morning Britain:
Regarding how Mrs. Susan touched her hair during the incident, she said: so she can see my name tag.
“That’s no good. We don’t put our hands in someone’s hair, and it’s not culturally appropriate.”
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said, “Racism has no place in our society. Comments are unacceptable. It is the right thing for an individual to step down, and it will have immediate effect.”
