Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in New York City on Monday, just three days before the release of the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan.
The former royal couple were all smiles as they were greeted by a group of friends on the tarmac as they stepped off their private jet.
Harry, 38, opted for a white button-down and black slacks for his cross-country trek, while Markle, 41, looked chic in an all-black ensemble complete with big black sunglasses.
After saying goodbye, the couple hopped into a black SUV and headed for the Big Apple.
The couple are just days away from dropping one of the most anticipated documentary series right now.
Markle has said that the tell-all series is a way for couples to share aspects of their stories.
“Harry and Meghan discuss how they felt their best interests were not represented by the Palace, and about being victims of the Palace’s media machine.
Another said the couple “would claim they were bullied by the palace.”
“What becomes clear is that their trials and tribulations suggest they are tied to larger issues in the world, such as racism,” the Hollywood insider added.
In one of the trailers for the series directed by Liz Garbus, Harry says he fears “history will repeat itself” and that his wife will suffer the same fate as his late mother, Princess Diana.
“It’s a dirty game,” he said as images of Diana and tabloid covers were shown on the screen.
“I realize they never protect you,” added Markle.
In the first trailer, which conveniently dropped during Prince William and Kate Middleton’s trip to Boston, the pair shared an intimate photo of their lives “behind the scenes.”
Despite stepping down from royal duties and making peace with the royal family, a source told Page Six that the two had second thoughts about the series after Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September.
“Harry and Meghan are panicking trying to tone down even the most basic language,” a source said.
Netflix has confirmed that the first three episodes of the project will be released on December 8th.
