Queen Elizabeth II took action after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tried to “cash” their royal links, a royal author claimed.
In his book Battle of Brothers, Robert Lacey claims that Harry and Meghan made the decision to commercialize under the royal trademark “Sussex Royal,” and the Queen said the couple had her permission. Since I was acting without a clue, I had no choice but to step off.
According to Lacy, “Harry once again completely failed to consult the Queen on major initiatives affecting the work and image of the royal family and the image of the crown as a whole. The family eventually fought back.” .
He added: “Elizabeth II has always had a soft spot for Harry. She was delighted with Meghan’s arrival.
“But there were some things Elizabeth II did not compromise on, chief among them was the authority of the crown.
“Harry and Meghan have jeopardized their authority by not disclosing their plans to market merchandise under the royal trademark. I didn’t.”
