A chorus of respected former British politicians, military figures and historians shared the following message for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: Please don’t attend King Charles’ coronation next year.
The couple’s explosive Netflix documentary, released Thursday, should be the final straw that marks the end of their relationship with the royal family.
Former cabinet minister and Tory veteran David Mellor said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “absolutely should not come” to Westminster Abbey when Charles will be crowned on May 6.
“They sell their families on the river to make money.
A former cabinet minister said the Britons “would be totally entitled to boo if the couple showed up. They are a sad pair and there is no hope for their current course.”

Another former Conservative Party leader, Yin Duncan-Smith, questioned why the couple would be interested in attending the coronation if they “hated the royal family so much”.
Writer and historian Mrs. Antonia Fraser said she wanted the former royals to stay away so as not to divert their attention from King Charles and Queen Camilla.
“If they come, I’m afraid the cameras will waste time. They should be holding hands in Hollywood,” said Fraser.
The scathing criticism comes just days after the first three episodes of the Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary dropped, drawing in thousands of viewers.

The couple made several allegations against the royal family, including that they had an “unconscious prejudice” about Markle’s race, and that King Charles didn’t take good care of Harry after Diana’s death.
Harry also seems to have jabbed that Prince William didn’t marry Princess Kate out of love, but because she suited the royal image so well.
Dai Davis, former head of royal protection, said the couple’s allegations could pose a security risk to the royal family, which has historically kept personal matters to its heart.

“I don’t know what poison will come next, but whether it’s a half-truth, a lie, or a mockery of the royal family, who wants to invite the royal family to their coronation? Huh?” said Davis.
“To describe the monarchy and the Commonwealth as racist is an insult to Britain and the British people,” he said. “The false narratives presented in this series can lead those who hold on to the royal family to act out their fantasies.”
According to noted historian Sir Andrew Roberts, members of the royal family had not been invited to coronations in the past, making it easy for the royal family to exclude Harry and Meghan, who voluntarily left the family in 2020. I made it.
“Queen Caroline was not invited to George IV’s coronation, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were not invited to King George VI in 1937, and German officials to Queen Elizabeth II were not invited in 1953. Get out of the focus of a great day,” he said.

It’s not clear if Harry and Meghan will be welcomed at the coronation or future royal functions, Tom Bauer told Page Six.
Retired Rear Admiral Chris Parry believes the couple “no longer has the right to be part of the royal family.”
“Frankly, they have shown they cannot be trusted when it comes to recording and reporting things,” he added. “The coronation is just another red carpet event for them, and they are likely to stomp and speak. They are not aligned with the dignity and importance of the occasion.”
Tory MP Bob Seeley said, “If I were them, I wouldn’t attend, but they clearly want to attend and monetize it later.
