Donald Trump claims it was his wish to keep his daughter Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner out of the 2024 presidential election. He says he wanted to protect him.
This is a slightly different spin than Ivanka herself described when her father announced her run last month.
Ivanka wasn’t in attendance when Trump announced from his Mar-a-Lago mansion in November. She lived in Florida and served as her father’s adviser at the White House.
Ivanka Trump issued a statement shortly after, declaring that she was stepping away from politics.
