Meghan Markle has opened up about the role women play in her family.
In the latest episode of her podcast Archetypes, the Duchess of Sussex, along with Sophie Trudeau, Pamela Adlon and Sam Jay, discuss the stereotypes of the Good Wife/Bad Wife and Good Mom/Bad Mom.
A guest expert on the podcast series said: it is toxic.
“We are trapped in false beliefs about who we are, perfectionist personas, and the grandiose delusion that we can do anything.
“The goal is not to feel guilty or ashamed of yourself, but to completely get out of the pendulum-swinging madness.”
Agreeing with her guest, Duchess Meghan said: “And if only we could get off that pendulum.
The author says, “Don’t let this illusion of perfectionism destroy your essence for the sake of the image of a good wife or good mother, because they are just images.
“The best mothers and women you can ever be are the ones who are authentic and deeply connected to our own knowledge.
The Duchess then invited guests to listen and said:
