Prince Harry and Meghan Markle landed in New York City on Tuesday ahead of their scheduled appearance at the Ripple of Hope Awards Gala.

The prince wore a white button-down shirt, while Markle kept it simple by wearing a black dress with black sunglasses.

What is the Ripple of Hope Award?
The Ripple of Hope Award has been awarded by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Organization for nearly 50 years. According to the organization’s website, the award will go to leaders in “government, business, advocacy and entertainment” who have contributed to “societal change.”
“This year’s honorees steered large companies to prioritize equity, inclusion and sustainability in the workplace and in the world.”

Harry and Markle have been selected to receive an award from the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation.
“We were thrilled when the Duke and Duchess accepted our award winners’ invitation in March. It has always stood out for its willingness to change,” said President Kerry Kennedy. Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights and Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter said in a statement.
She continued, “They embody the type of moral courage that my father once called ‘the essential and essential qualities of those who seek to change the world, where change is most painful.’
