Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had an “amazing time” attending Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s surprise vow renewal this week, Page Six has learned exclusively.
“They actually attended and had a great time celebrating Portia’s birthday and the renewal of the couple’s vows,” an insider told Thursday.
The source added that they are all “close friends.”
In a video of the event, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen smiling in the crowd as they watched Kris Jenner officiate the ceremony between the couple, who have been married for over 14 years.
“Harry and Meghan attend Ellen and Portia’s surprise vow renewal (hosted by Kris Jenner!!!?) My heart 🥹✨,” alone murmuredalong with screenshots showing Sussex on a fun occasion.
Markle, 41, was comfortable in a gray coat, while Harry, 38, was casual in a black blazer, white dress shirt, and no tie.
She and the red-haired royal stood apart from each other as they applauded and cheered for the former talk show host and her wife.
Harry and Markle have been keeping a low profile since the release of their controversial memoir Spare last month. Accusing him of physically attacking him, his father, Charles III, called him a “spare” when he was born.
The former royal is literally close with DeGeneres and De Rossi, and they all live in the gorgeous town of Montecito, California.
On Thursday, DeGeneres revealed that she and De Rossi renewed their vows in front of their loved ones on his wife’s 50th birthday.
“Portia surprised me by renewing our vows at her birthday party,” DeGeneres, 65, shared on social media before hosting Jenner’s Brady. Thank you Carlyle.
DeGeneres looked disgusted when De Rossi entered the room in a stunning wedding dress, led his wife to the front of the room, and repeated their love for each other.
“I just adore you. I love you. Without you I wouldn’t be on this earth. You save me every day. Save me every day.” Thank you for doing that,” DeGeneres told De Rossi, holding his hand. “I’m one of the lucky ones.”
DeGeneres and De Rossi first got married in August 2008 in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles.
