Meghan Markle and Prince Harry share the global influence of the Arshwell Foundation.
On Sunday, the nonprofit released its first impact report, sharing statistics on the foundation’s activities from its founding in 2020 to 2022. PEOPLE understands that the remainder will be allocated for charitable grants over the next few years.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex charity has partnered with Global Citizen to help procure 12.66 million COVID-19 vaccines, worked with World Central Kitchen to provide 50,000 meals, and donated to the Human First Coalition, according to a report. has helped 7,468 people leave Afghanistan. .
Archewell also funded Equimundo’s positive masculinity resource guide, which reached 3,673 people in 122 countries. The nonprofit sponsored the first cohort of 13 Fellows of the Institute for Rebooting Social Media at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society to support the Robb Elementary School shooting in May 2022. After the incident, he built a playground in Uvalde, Texas.

“The Archwell Foundation is an influential non-profit organization founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Our primary purpose is, quite simply, to do good,” the foundation’s website says. The statement reads. “We will rise to the moment and take action, harnessing our unparalleled spotlight to uplift and unite our communities, both locally and globally, online and offline.”

Prince Harry, 38, and Duchess Meghan, 41, launched Archewell shortly after stepping down from their senior civil service roles in 2020. The organization’s name is Greek for “source of action,” and was the basis for the name of his three-and-a-half-year-old son Archie Harrison.
The couple are also parents to 18-month-old daughter Lilibet Diana, named in honor of Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and mother, Princess Diana.
