Newark, DE – Jordyn McDonnell finished in 18th place overall to lead the Hofstra women’s cross country team at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
McDonnell finished in a time of 22:22.40 to lead the Pride in the 6K race. Other Hofstra finishers included Sophia Masciarelli in 55th place with a time of 23:41.50, Allison Reid in 68th in a time of 24:17.30, Jackalynn Orellana finished in 80th place with a time of 25:08.70, and Leslie Villafuerte Castro in 84th place with a time of 25:32.90.
The Pride scored 251 points to place ninth in the team competition, finishing 19 points ahead of 10th-place Towson and one points behind UNCW in eight place. Elon won its fourth consecutive CAA team title with 30 points thanks to top-10 finishes from four runners. Abigail Hassman of Northeastern was crowed the CAA individual champion with a time of 21:12.7, finishing 3.7 seconds faster than runner-up Madison Synowiec from Elon.
Hofstra is back in action on Friday, November 11 when it takes part in the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship in the Bronx, New York.
