An advocacy group in New Jersey is taking a stand against Amazon, arguing that the retail giant has two faces, selling products to both promote and oppose it.
As part of a fundraising campaign to strengthen its business in 2023, Environment New Jersey is asking Amazon to remove bee-killing pesticides from its digital shelves.

Recent studies point to neonics as a major contributor to the disappearance of bees. His 2020 report for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection noted that classes of chemicals were detected in more than half of the hundreds of surface water samples analyzed.

As of Thursday night, Amazon has not responded to New Jersey 101.5’s request for comment.
Retailers such as The Home Depot and Lowe’s are moving to remove neonicotinoids from their products.
In early 2022, Governor Phil Murphy signed into law a law that severely limits the sale and use of neonicotinoids in horticultural states.
