Tehran – Iran’s non-oil export value increased by 19% from the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (21 March 2022) to 31 December. The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Authority (IRICA) shows.
According to IRICA data, Iran exported 97.843 million tonnes of goods worth $43.088 billion during the period mentioned, with a weight increase of 2 percent, IRNA reported.
Liquefied natural gas, liquefied propane, methanol, liquefied butane, and film-grade polyethylene were the main export products during this period.
The main export destinations of Iran’s non-petroleum products were China, Iraq, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India.
The Islamic Republic also imported 28.18 million tonnes of non-oil commodities worth $44.337 billion in the first 286 days of the year, a year-on-year increase of 14.7% in value and 10% in weight.
According to IRICA data, the main items imported into the country during the same period were corn, rice, wheat, soybeans, sunflower oil and mobile phones.
The United Arab Emirates was the largest exporter to Iran during the period mentioned, followed by China, Turkey, India and Germany.
The value of Iran’s non-oil trade reportedly rose by 17% during the period mentioned, compared to the same period over the past year.
Iran traded more than 126 million tonnes of non-petroleum products worth more than $88 billion with other countries during the period mentioned.
As the former head of IRICA previously announced, the value of Iran’s non-oil trade increased by 38% in the past Iranian calendar year 1400 (ending March 20, 2022) compared to the previous year.
Alireza Moqadasi said the country’s non-oil trade over the past year was 162 million tonnes, worth $100 billion.
He said Iran had exported 122 million tonnes of non-petroleum products worth $48 billion in the previous year. That’s $14 billion (41%) more than the previous year’s figure.
