Iranian police said they would investigate an incident in which security forces caught on camera attacked and opened fire on a man.
The video shows a man lying on the ground in front of a residence being beaten by some security guards, and then one police officer points a gun at him and shoots him. The person filming the video can be heard saying, “They shot the man with a shotgun pellet…they must have killed the man.”

Statement, Status – Fars News Agency reported on Tuesday. “Police will not tolerate such violent and unconventional behavior and will ensure that violators are dealt with.”
Amnesty International, sharing the same video, said Tuesday it was “a terrifying reminder that Iran’s security forces’ atrocities know no bounds.”

This is not the first time security forces have called for a police investigation into videos of civilians being attacked.
Police said in October they would “issue a special order” to deal with officers who physically harassed women on the streets of Tehran, state-run ISNA reported. The incident was caught on camera and found an officer inappropriately groping a woman while trying to arrest her along with a group of other officers.
