Iranian police have reportedly once again started reminding women to keep wearing headscarves in cars.
Police are implementing a new phase of the Nazer-1 program, also known as nationwide surveillance, according to senior officers.

According to Fars news, the Nazer program, launched in 2020, was all about removing hijabs from cars.
In early 2020, car owners were receiving SMS text messages warning them of vehicle dress code violations and threatening legal action if it happened again.
However, the threat of legal action was later dropped by police.

According to police, “Hijab removal has been observed in your vehicle. You must respect social norms and ensure that this practice is not repeated.”
Protests have erupted across Iran since the death of Iranian-Kurdish Mahsa Amini on September 16 after being arrested in Tehran on suspicion of violating the Islamic Republic’s strict dress code for women.
After the protests, many women were seen stopping without headscarves in both the wealthier parts of Tehran’s capital and the more traditional and conservative southern suburbs.
