No. 9 Alabama found themselves in one of the biggest upsets of the college football season last week when they lost to No. 7 LSU. The Crimson Tide are looking to get back on track when they move to the No. 11 Ole Miss in front of a hostile crowd at Vought-Hemingway Stadium. Alabama has lost two of his last three games, including an overtime thriller to the Tigers in Death Valley in Week 10. The Rebels have only lost him once in the season, but after that he looks to keep pace in the race for the SEC West Crown. Goodbye last weekend.
There are many dangers lurking here. Both teams are facing Six Bowl bids for the New Year, with the winner moving up the pecking order to secure a spot in his one of his major bowl games this season. More danger looms over Ole Miss. Coupled with his loss to the Crimson Tide and win over Arkansas earlier in the day with LSU, the divisional title passes to the Tigers.

Alabama vs. Ole Miss: What You Need to Know
What is Bryce Young’s status? The Alabama quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner is working to recover 100 percent after injuring his shoulder against Arkansas last month. Young has struggled at times with LSU, but coach Nick Saban knows the rest of the offense hasn’t helped him much.
“All the indications of what he’s said to us, me, the medical staff, is that he’s feeling good and doing well,” Saban said on Monday. “I really understand how he feels. I think I’ll have to ask him to do it but he tells us it’s okay.Better work around Bryce. We have to protect him better. We cannot allow people to push his pockets against him.
Ole Miss ranks among the top four teams in the SEC for sacks and tackles, and pressure generation will no doubt be a focus of the Rebels’ defense. Empty possessions over Ole Miss can cause big problems, and Alabama’s offensive weaknesses don’t match well with Ole Miss’s defensive strength.
Big Rebel: Ole Miss has 16 pass plays of 20 yards or more this year, fourth-most in the SEC. Receivers Malik Heath and Jonathan Mingo are flat-out studs and benefit from the Rebels’ rush attack.
“They are such a good running team that they make a lot of explosive plays in the passing game, which is not out of the ordinary because they have to play to stop the runs,” Saban said. “They shoot well from running plays, so that’s very difficult.”
Ole Miss has the same philosophy as Tennessee and we all know what happened to Crimson Tide vs. The Volunteers. If the Rebels can establish a run early, quarterback Jackson Dart has a chance to chop up the Tide’s secondary.
Where is the motive?: The last time Alabama was out of the national title picture in mid-November was in 2010. The Crimson Tide had lost two of their final three, and frankly, the fire was not at all visible on the sidelines Saturday night in Death Valley. They’ve been relegated to playing for pride, and that’s something Saban is working hard to pull off in practice this week.
“I think being proud is a challenge for all of us,” Saban said. “We’re going to play against a good team this week. They’re going to want to put up with the mantle, ‘We also won Alabama.'” It’s a matter of doing the best you can. ”
Saban has mastered the ability to thrive under pressure. Usually, though, it’s the pressure to win at the highest level the sport has to offer. The pressure to save face is something else entirely.
Alabama vs. Ole Miss Predictions, Picks
Ole Miss and points, but Rebels wins outright, so I don’t need them. A multi-dimensional Rebels rush attack succeeds early on, pulling the Alabama defender into the box and Dart firing a shot from above. At the same time, the Ole Miss defense has enough success to put Alabama under pressure. That’s bad news for the Alabama team, who aren’t as crisp on the road. Prophecy: Olemis +12
