In the eyes of the Associated Press’ top 25 voters, Georgia remains the nation’s No. 1 team.

Georgia was number one in last week’s AP poll, but third in the original college football playoff rankings. It would be a shock if Georgia didn’t place him at No. 1 in both rankings after the Bulldogs’ dominant win over Tennessee on Saturday.

Tennessee was the top-ranked team on the CFP selection committee, but tied for second with Ohio in the AP poll. After Saturday’s loss, the Volunteers dropped him three spots to fifth.

Another SEC bigwig had similar polling implications. LSU succeeded on his two-point conversion attempt in overtime and upset Alabama. As a result, LSU moved up his eight places from 15th in his AP polls to where he ranked 7th. Meanwhile, Alabama dropped him four spots to 10th.

Another major drop in the AP poll came from Clemson following the ugly road loss to previously unranked Notre Dame.

Behind Georgia, Ohio remained in second place despite a shaky wet-day performance at Northwestern University. Michigan overtook the Rutgers with a strong second half and then moved up to his third place in the standings. TCU remained undefeated with a win at home to Texas Tech, moving him up three spots to fourth.

Oregon continues its winning streak and is now up to sixth place, ahead of two other one-loss Pac-12 teams (No. 8 USC and No. 9 UCLA).

Further down the ranking is Tulane at No. 16. Tulane is his highest-ranked G5 squad ahead of a massive American Athletic Conference matchup against UCF, where he moved up three places to finish 22nd.

Other notable moves in the rankings include Liberty, Illinois and Kansas. Liberty now sits in 19th place after the upset in Arkansas. Illinois dropped seven places to No. 21 after a home loss to Michigan. Kansas dropped 10 spots to No. 23 after losing to Texas.

Texas is one of the newcomers to the rankings. He is ranked 18th by the Longhorns, who will host TCU next weekend. The University of Notre Dame at No. 20, Washington State at No. 24, and Florida State University at No. 25 also returned to the rankings this week.

Wake Forest and Oklahoma State University both dropped out after entering the top 10 just two weeks ago.
