Former President Donald Trump is considering announcing another bid for the White House in the weeks after Tuesday’s midterm elections. I’ve been calling the donor base.
The exact timing and nature of the announcement are unknown. A source close to Trump said it could happen within two weeks after the Nov. 8 election. Another adviser said it would likely happen after Thanksgiving and probably not until early 2023.
“I very, very likely and will do it again… get ready,” Trump said Thursday night at a rally in Iowa.
Trump spokesperson Taylor Gravitch said, “I do not comment on the endless media speculation and rumors.”
“As President Trump said, Americans should vote for and against the Republican ballot, and he will continue that message tomorrow night in Pennsylvania.
In an interview with conservative Spanish-language media Americano Media last Saturday, the former president said he had already made a decision on whether to launch a third run in the White House.
“I’m already thinking about it, but we’ll announce it soon,” Trump said. “I will let people know very soon.”

Trump supporters speculate that the former president could shut out potential Republican challengers by being the first to announce his 2024 candidacy. That strategy may stop some candidates who work closely with Trump, but Trump’s former Vice President Mike Pence, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and other potential 2024 candidates. Applicants are unlikely to be prevented from starting their own campaigns.
Mike Pompeo, who served as Trump’s secretary of state, told CBS News earlier this year his decision to run Don’t rely on Trump.
Trump continues to deny election results 2020 election, he lost. Last night, he told supporters in Iowa that he “should never have left” the White House.
Now he seems poised to try to get it back.
