PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Saturday is a busy morning for politicians and supporters across Keystone.
With just three days to go until the midterms and polls looming over several constituencies, heavyweights from both parties are coming to Western Pennsylvania today to give their party’s candidates a final push. No wonder.
Events begin later today in Pittsburgh, where former President Barack Obama will step in for Democratic Senate candidate Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman at Shenley Plaza in Oakland.
Fetterman is going head-to-head with Dr. Mehmet Oz, and his camp hopes the former president’s popularity will help him cross the finish line on Tuesday.
Gates will open the doors at 9am for the event, while Obama and Fetterman are scheduled to hit the stage at 12pm.
The former president will then head to Philadelphia to attend another election event with President Biden.
But this evening at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Latrobe, former President Donald Trump will appear for Dr. Oz and Doug Mastriano to make their case public.
The rally will start at 4pm with the main event around 7pm.
Both events appear to have heightened security, so the Secret Service is asking supporters to bring only the essentials and leave things like backpacks, lawn chairs, and umbrellas at home.
Details of these two events will be announced on the KDKA.com website. If you can’t make it today, CBS News Pittsburgh will live stream both events online.
