2022 Week 17 Fantasy Football Sleepers
π¨Cautionπ¨ These are sleepers. They will never copy my ranking 100%. This is upside and often comes with more risk.
Like last week, mix it up a bit. At this point, you don’t need a paragraph for each player. So let’s use APA (link above) to show you some good and bad matchups. For fringe starters (aka sleepers or possible benches). This doesn’t mean you have to start with the good stuff or bench the bad stuff everywhere. These are just a look at potential favorable plays and players who might reconsider with a quality replacement on hand.

good match up
- Aaron Rodgers, UK β Rodgers is a floor play this season, but at least the Vikings are giving all their quarterbacks double-digit fantasy points this year… well… after Rodgers’ 3.7 points in Week 1.
- Russell Wilson, Denmark β Speaking of the floor, Wilson hit hard with nearly eight points in three of his last four games, but the Chiefs gave him his second-highest score of the season in Week 14.
- Jared Goff, DET β Goff not only played outdoors, he had one of the best games of Week 16, so he goes home to face the Bears.
- brock purdy, science fiction β Mac Jones is the only quarterback not to reach double-digit points against the Raiders, while Purdy has scored between 14.3 and 21.7 points each in four starts.
bad matchup
- Taylor Heinicke/Carson Wentz, WSH β Yes, the Browns had the advantage of facing three of the worst quarterbacks in the last four games, but Joe Burrow and Josh Allen are also restricted, plus the team can run them without needing a pass .
- Deshawn Watson, CLE β Not only is Watson still rusty, but since Week 3, the Commanders have only one quarterback past Justin Fields’ 18.4 points. That was his 21.8 points for Jalen Hurts.
- Derek Carr, LV β Few have done better than the 49ers when it comes to quarterback limits, with only two quarterbacks holding more than 17.4 points and holding no more than 8 to 10.3 points.
- Gino Smith, SEA β Smith’s last two games have been pretty poor, with lines of 238-1-0 and 215-1-1 against the 49ers and Chiefs respectively, and Smith has to try to rebound against the Jets. They have held his eight quarterbacks below his 14.1 points, and no quarterback has thrown more than two touchdowns since Week 3.

- Zonovan Knight, NYJ β Knight gets a head start against the Seahawks, but more importantly, Mike White is back at quarterback.
- Tyler Allgaier, ATL β Taking the lead in the backfield, posting 20.1 and 13.7 over the past two games, Allgaier faced the Cardinals with a combined 27-108-0 rushing line and 14-13-107-1 receiving line. I gave it to Leonard Fournette. and Rashard White.
- Brian Robinson, WSH β Antonio Gibson is banged, but even if it’s not, the Browns are a head-to-head matchup the team can rely on for a run. had a
- Zach Moss, IND β This feels dangerous given the state of the Colts’ offense, but Moss took a clear lead in Week 16 and saw a job like Berkau.

- Jeff Wilson/Raheem Mostert, MIA β Wilson is back on top in Week 16, but he could still be frustrated in the split, plus a Patriots defense and likely Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback.
- Ken Walker, SEA β It’s hard to bench walkers everywhere, but the Jets defense is strong almost everywhere, allowing a YPC below 4.0 and no one but Nick Chubb to top 18.7 points. Even with 25 touches (22 rushing), Travis Etienne had just 112 yards at 4.5 yards per touch.
- Gus Edwards, BAL –Edwards was a reliable floor RB3, but he could be tough against the Steelers. Edwards managed 66 for 13 in Week 14 against them, but Josh Jacobs was just bottled up after a week of the Panthers doing nothing against them.
- Nagy Harris, PIT β Harris, on the other hand, has volume in his favor, but a Week 14 game against Baltimore was saved with a touchdown (12-33 rushing). In fact, he’s the only three running backs the Ravens have allowed him 80-plus yards, and he’s had no RBs to complete 100 yards (Nick Chubb said he was just short 21-for-99). did not).

- Christian Watson, Allen Lazard, Romeo Dubs, UK β with Watson out, Lazard and Dubs are nearing a mandatory start. And if Watson plays, he’s locking Lazard and Dubs as valuable upside plays. By Week 14, four Detroit receivers had scored 10.4+ points against these Vikings.
- Brandin Cooks, Chris Moore, HOU β Cooks has been a solid WR3 for as long as he’s been playing, and while the Jaguars stopped the Jets, it was Zach Wilson and terrible weather conditions. The Jaguars have allowed him double-digit wideouts in his five games, two of which he has achieved with his three wideouts.
- Russell Gage, Mike Evans, Tuberculosis β Gage replaced Evans as number two, at least in production. If you’re looking for a reason to bet Evans in favor (I can’t believe I just said it), the Panthers are ripe for a pick after allowing Goff to light them up… outdoors.
- Rashid Shaheed, NO β This is only in the absence of Chris Olave, as it only puts one Saints receiver at risk per week. The Saints have had to pass to battle the Eagles and have been more susceptible in the second half of the season.
bad matchup
- Terry McLoughlin, Jahan Dotson, Curtis Samuel, WSH β Back in the Browns matchup, McLaughlin and Dotson may be tough to bench, but they’re more risky than normal, regardless of quarterback.
- Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, CLE β The same goes for the Browns duo. The Commanders have only allowed Justin Jefferson to surpass his 13.1 points since Week 7.
- Van Jefferson, LAR β Sure, the Rams made the Broncos shine, but it wasn’t because of their wideout performance, and the Chargers have frequently locked down opponents since they were all healthy.
- Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, NYJ β Even with Whiteback, the Rams, 49ers and Chiefs haven’t had a WR top 31 yards against Seattle in the past three weeks, so betting on Davis or Moore is risky. On top of that, against the Seahawks, he’s only 13 receivers to reach 10 points, no team has more than 18.2, and he has five teams without double-digit scorers.
tight end
good match up
- Cole Koumet, CHI β With good chemistry and no weather to worry about, Kmet has scored 24 targets in the last four matches.
- Dalton Schultz, DAL β Schultz has remained silent in the last two games, but had scored 10 or more points in four of the six previous games, giving up some of the biggest tight end games of the year for the Titans (Evan Anyone from Engram and Moorley Cox?).
- Gerald Everett, LAC β Six double-digit tight end scores the Rams have conceded since Week 8.
bad matchup
- Logan Thomas, WSH β Only three double-digit scores from tight ends against the Browns (again, no teams needed). One of them was Taysom Hill, who rushed at 9-56-1.
- Tyler Higby, LAR β Higbee has regained relevance with Baker Mayfield, but this week could prove to be a tough one given their matchup with Chargers. As with the Browns, he has only allowed three double-digit scores…but one of them was Kels’ monster game.
- Hayden Hurst, CIN β assuming he’s back, keeping Hurst out of injury and using it against the Bills is dangerous.Kelce is the only player to score 8.0 or better.
