Former President Donald Trump has called for the release of those arrested in connection with the Capitol riots.
“Began treatment of protesters on January 6 [sic] rather. Let go of everything now! ‘” Trump wrote to Truth Social on Friday.
Trump has previously spoken about his perceptions of the “wrongful” treatment of those incarcerated, and has repeatedly suggested that he would forgive them if reelected.
Earlier this year, Trump revealed that he was “financially supporting” some of the Jan. 6 defendants.
More than 900 people have been indicted so far in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021 riots, during which pro-Trump mobs took to the Capitol building in an attempt to block proof of Joe Biden’s election victory. I pushed.
The former president made comments in a lengthy statement about the acquittal of his former adviser Tom Barack on charges of lobbying a foreign government.
Trump said the ruling “has set the radical left back in a big way” and gave various examples of what he sees as right-wing injustice.

Along with the Jan. 6 mob, he also called for the release of True the Vote leaders Katherine Englebrecht and Greg Phillips, who were arrested this week.
The two, who have fostered a runaway conspiracy theory about voter fraud, were jailed after refusing to reveal the identities of persons of interest in a defamation lawsuit against them.
Trump also cited some of his legal and political troubles, including the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago and two impeachments he called “false hoaxes and fraud.” .
The former president is now facing a series of investigations and lawsuits, including allegations of improper handling of classified documents and efforts to overturn the US election.
Trump has constantly hinted that he plans to run again in 2024, and sources tell The New York Times that he will likely announce a third campaign soon.
