Chloe Kim is smiling.
The two-time Olympic snowboard gold medalist sits on a plush white sofa in her home in Venice, Los Angeles. The morning sun shining through a nearby window can be seen through Zoom. Kim’s pet dog, Australian Reese, his Shepherd, suddenly keeps appearing on the monitor.

Kim herself is soft-spoken and deceptively laid-back, but she has a lot to talk about. ), modeling, acting, promoting social issues with the likes of Prince Harry, and a possible return to Princeton.
Most recently, Kim embarked on her first design collaboration as a fashion designer with apparel and sportswear company Roxy.
“It was probably the most fun I’ve had in a very long time,” Kim said. The best part was being able to work with people who were willing to help, it brought it to life.
“I knew everything about what colors I wanted to use. [decide where to] Pick up the zipper and decide where you want the pocket. That sort of thing was a little more challenging. But anyway, it was a lot of fun,” the athlete continued. “At the end of the day, I talked to a lot of my friends who are designers, like Cynthia Rowley, who also has a relationship with Roxy. The result is a 10-piece apparel and accessory collection filled with puffy jackets, snow pants, gloves and hats in a variety of colors.
Kim’s favorite is a bright red snow jacket.
“That’s where the whole collection started,” she explained. “I just wanted to wear something really bright and fun. And I wanted to take this to the mountains because it’s just fun.Also people can see you from a mile away so you don’t lose your friends .
“I also think it went with the theme of what you want to wear in the mountains,” she continued. (Kim confirmed that Roxy wore outerwear exclusively during the competition, under which he had previously worn Skims’ innerwear.)
“Honestly, [the Roxy collection] Just like me,” Kim added. “Like, I put my heart and soul into this and it was my first.” [time designing]So I guess I just wanted to incorporate everything I liked. “
Kim was just as passionate about her decision to work with Roxy.

But Kim has other adventures and aspirations.

Will she be able to find time to launch her own fashion brand?
“I think I always had the illusion that one day I could have my own brand. But I don’t know when that will be,” she said. “[But] i don’t think i will [a] snow [brand]I think you should do street style. What are four months of the year just because I’m really in the mountains? And I’ll be in Los Angeles for the rest of the year. So just covering it would be fun. But yeah. There is also acting. Kim began attending auditions, saying, “Maybe he was a month ago, but it was a lot of fun.”
“Because I like to joke,” said Kim. I want to play around with the set. looks fun.I think [acting] It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. So that’s my priority these days. But obviously it’s also very important to use my platform to talk about mental health and what’s going on in the world. ”
This includes teaming up with Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and chief impact officer of betterup, a coaching and mental health startup, to discuss mental fitness.
“Prince Harry is probably the kindest person. One of the kindest people I’ve ever met in my life,” said Kim. “We had great conversations on and off camera, and were very sincere and kind and of course everything they do at BetterUp is incredible and they are very important to talk about.” We’re talking about problems. So I guess I’m just going with the flow, no matter what comes.”
With so many projects going on at the same time, it’s difficult for fans to know where to see Kim next, or which of her priorities will take precedence. ?” she wonders out loud. One thing is certain, Kim said fashion has always been important to her.
“Especially growing up in Los Angeles, traveling the world at a young age, [fashion] It was like a little house that you could carry anywhere, anytime,” she explained. “I feel like I can express myself with what I wear. It’s like a great outlet for me.”
Commenting on her first collaboration with Roxy, Kim added with a smile:
