“Every day we witness more and more how little respect Iran has for women’s rights and human rights, and political leaders and legislators in Canada and New Zealand have made clear that this morality has cast a shadow over Iran’s reputation. “Not only is it the height of hypocrisy for Muslims, Iranian regime maintains leadership position on women’s rights — It is dangerous.Mullah uses membership of UN’s highest commission on women’s rights as a propaganda platform It suggests that the Tehran regime has a legitimate interest in women’s rights. “
“It is time to put an end to allowing brutal dictatorships like Iran to spread disinformation and justify egregious abuses of women, girls and ordinary people.”
“Now is the time to put the words we have heard into action. Member States of the United Nations must show the world that they can responsibly overthrow the Iranian regime.”
A motion submitted to the Canadian Parliament by Thornhill Honorary MP Melissa Landman:
We believe that the following motion will be unanimously agreed. Given the brutal death of Martha Amini at the hands of the IRGC, the subsequent crackdown on women’s rights, civil liberties and fundamental liberties in Iran, and the long history of serious human rights, the abuses and violence against women by the Iranian state continue. Therefore, the House of Representatives declares its support for the exclusion of Iran from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. ”
