We all order gifts online and want them to arrive at your doorstep without being lost or stolen. flying around.

There’s not much we can do about packages left unnoticed on the front porch or at the foot of the front door. Please check out this photo of a recent delivery we received, please remember, we cannot see our mailbox from home.
I chose “not so good”. This is a photo sent directly from Amazon, yes they put it right next to the mailbox, not in the mailbox itself. But obviously it’s not appropriate. Not only that, but this is a pretty busy and popular side street, the delivery was made by Amazon themselves and was marked “left in a safe place”. What do you think? Is this a safe place? Below is another great shipping photo. All I know is from USPS.
It was too big to fit properly and should not have been brought to our door and left in this condition. Also, yes, it’s additional mail shoved between the package and the top of the mailbox. I don’t know if it will work, but it doesn’t matter what. When my fiancée and I moved into this house in 2018, I received a flyer from the postmaster reporting who could and could not use the mailbox, and misuse.
Damn, that flyer would have helped with this article. Anyway, this all leads to the question, “Can Amazon or UPS deliver to mailboxes in Connecticut?” According to Yardblogger, the short answer is: number.
Amazon cannot deliver packages directly to your mailbox because this is illegal. Packages from Amazon can only be delivered to your mailbox if Amazon uses UPS SurePost as the carrier for final delivery of the package.
If you use USPS for shipping, or Amazon SurePost, which partners with UPS and USPS, Amazon will deliver to your mailbox. This is because USPS owns all mailboxes in the United States and only USPS is legally authorized to use them.
Yes, in some cases, if you use “SurePost”, you can receive your package in your mailbox from UPS or Amazon. I’m pretty sure Amazon didn’t use SurePost for this particular delivery. Packages next to the base of mailboxes are not only not “style” to be designated “safe”, they are almost illegal. Here is another recent photo from a multiple item delivery.
Again, I missed the mark by about 3 feet, but at least one of them could have fit in my mailbox. We’ve had a ton of deliveries in the last few days, I’m not sure which delivery service left these here, but apparently it’s not a good place to leave them. But is it safe to leave my package there? No, it’s not safe to leave it there, whether it’s USPS, UPS, Amazon, FedEx, or Santa Claus. The delivery may not be completely “illegal or legal”, but it was not a very good attempt.
