A terrifying and emotional scene unfolded early in Monday night’s game between the Bills and Bengals. Bills safety dummer Hamlin went down. After making the tackle, Hamlin got to his feet but suddenly fell to the ground. He received immediate medical attention on the field, and he was transferred to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati.
Hamlin, 24, suffered a cardiac arrest after his heart rate recovered on the field, the Bills said in a statement early Tuesday. ” was made clear.
Buffalo vs. Cincinnati “Monday Night Football” was officially postponed by the NFL just after 10pm ET. The league released the following statement:
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has announced that tonight’s game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals has been postponed due to the collapse of Buffalo Bills forward Dumar Hamlin.
Hamlin received immediate medical attention at the scene by the team and independent medical staff, as well as local paramedics. He was then taken to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.

The NFL is in constant communication with the NFL Players Association who have agreed to postpone the game.
Hamlin was placed on a stretcher and eventually in an ambulance while receiving several minutes of CPR at the scene. He was given oxygen as he entered the ambulance, and he and several of his family members were taken to the hospital.
On Tuesday morning, family spokesperson Jordon Rooney provided Hamlin’s update: “I can’t speak specifically to his medical condition. …The most important thing is to give the family privacy….His family is going through a lot right now.”
Monday’s game was temporarily suspended after Bills coach Sean McDermott and Bengals coach Zach Taylor spoke on the field. During a conference call with the media late Monday night, it chose not to address the potential rescheduling of the game. That decision ultimately rests in the hands of Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Bills decided to return to Buffalo early Tuesday morning. A number of members of the Bills and Bengals visited the hospital late Monday night.

Hamlin is in the middle of his second season with the Bills. He earned a spot in the Buffalo starting lineup this season after appearing in 14 games as a rookie.
Hamlin character And his work ethic led him to make the Bills’ 53-man roster as a rookie, despite being a Day 3 draft pick. That same work ethic helped him become a starter this season.
