President Joe Biden has called the Florida gubernatorial election “one of the most important elections in the country” and accused Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, of “Donald Trump incarnate.”
Biden was speaking at a reception for Rep. Charlie Christo (D-Florida), who is looking to return to the governor’s mansion for the first time in over a decade, this time as a Democrat.
Christo trails DeSantis by 12 points, raising questions about why Biden is in Florida.

But Biden isn’t popular enough to help Democrats everywhere, and DeSantis is a liberal boogeyman and a potential rival for the president in 2024.
“Charlie is fighting the incarnation of Donald Trump.
“I always say democracy hinges on the vote. I really mean it,” he added, lamenting the most widespread rejection of democracy since the Civil War.
Biden has criticized the Republican Party’s handling of the attack on the California home of Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California).
“Look at the reaction of Republicans joking about it,” he said.
“The world is watching us, Charlie. They are watching us,” Biden continued. “It’s really important that a state the size of Florida… is on the right side of history.”
Biden added that legal abortion is on the ballot, saying some Republicans want locally elected officials to be involved in the decision, citing another state’s Republican candidate Mehmet. – Mentioned Dr. Oz (R-PA).
The President is also in Florida to campaign for Rep. Val Demings (Democrat-Florida) and to overthrow Senator Marco Rubio (Republican-Florida).Rubio up 8 points real clear politics vote average.
At a Medicare event earlier in the day, Biden also took aim at Sen. Rick Scott (R-Florida), becoming a symbol of the Republican Party cutting back on entitlement programs that benefit seniors. Scott won’t be on the ballot next Tuesday, but he’s the chairman of the Senate’s Republican campaign division.
Biden was complementing DeSantis when they worked together on Hurricane Ian. But his rivalry with the governor of Florida comes close to his rivalry with Trump.
Current polls show Trump and DeSantis are the two candidates most likely to win the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Biden lost Florida in 2020. The state hasn’t voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since his predecessor Barack Obama in 2012, with Biden being the running mate. DeSantis was first elected governor in 2018, the year of the Democratic wave, although it required a recount.

Biden is entering the final campaign before the midterm elections. He plans to head to the West Coast later this week and then return to Pennsylvania.
Recent polls suggest a late swing to the Republican Party, which has always been favored due to history, the economy and Biden’s low approval ratings.
