Rebecca Daigle, 23, of Fitchburg was arrested Wednesday and charged with theft without a permit, according to a news release from the Nashua Police Department in New Hampshire.
On Sept. 30, 2022, a member of the agency’s Department of Unified Field Operations responded to a call about the theft at an Amazon shipping facility, police said. On August 29, WFXT-TV reported that Amazon Flex driver Daigle received “multiple packages” that were not delivered to their destination in Massachusetts.
Amazon’s website states that flex drivers are paid to use their own vehicles to deliver packages for the company, allowing for more flexible work schedules.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit were able to issue an arrest warrant for Daigle.
If convicted, Daigle could face up to seven years in prison and a fine, the WFXT reports.
Police said Daigle was released on a letter of reference. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 12, 2023 for her arraignment.
